Still no oficial info about celebrating 30 years Omega x James Bond 007, Omega pushing it to second part of the year …
I mean they announced Bond 60th around November, and even then goldeneye, came out in November of 1995 but we shall see, I keep getting emails from Omega about new models and nothing 😏. Maybe Amazon is putting a leash on merchandising for the time being

I even asked directly in HQ, but silence from Omega, you are right, they can keep close to November date ..

Someone in Poland did a great job and obviously WRZECIONO CZASU started celebrating # 30 years Omega x 007 just right now.

It is on ch24

I'm pretty sure they will again make a 10k fancy fanboy toy like the previous ones. Specially the ridiculous last one...

But still hopping for just a watch. An upgrade thin solar version of the Golden Eye one for exemple. And not SE but just a regular watch people can buy and wear. Dreaming.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Omega x James Bond 007 collaboration.

On November 13, 1995, the world premiere of GoldenEye took place, where Pierce Brosnan debuted for the first time with the Omega Seamaster 300 Quartz.
What do you think Omega will prepare for this anniversary?
Hopefully something technically advanced which Omega already has in their portfolio but don't want to get this technology go in production, I mean the so called Spirate regulating system WHY THE HELL are they waiting so long? It would somehow be the response to Rolex with their new Dynapulse escapment but obviously Omega thing it's better to make copy of the aqua terra ( see the new Railmaster) or release 1'000'000 of different dial colours instead of listening to the Omega afficionados wordwide

Ioi Interactive revealed the first look for the upcoming 007 game called First Light, still an interesting choice for a Bond watch but it feels like an update from the previous gen, I think. I know it's a game but it's no coincidence that my Facebook ad spies is showing me the bond 60th after a month of RailMasters and World TImers ads lolol.

As a fan of IOI interactive and the team behind one of my favorite Franchises known as Hitman, the game feels like everything I love from the hitman franchise, and I can't wait. Would be cool if it was real, but the fact that Omega's branding all over including real Aston martin vehicles, who knows, especially with no current Bond movie in sight.

Bond was bad for a while, so it's not like Amazon can do a lot of damage to the franchise. IMO the last good Bond movie was Casino Royale and maybe Skyfall.

The game will be interesting. The graphics look like they were from 2010, though.

The graphics don't even remotely look like they're from 2010, that would be like Red Dead 1 level graphics. They're just a bit more gamey than current AAA's. IOI isn't a massive AAA franchise developer, they're independent. It looks fine.

Agreed about the last truly good Bond movie being Casino Royale though. I don't rate Skyfall, other than the cinematography.

Do you think there should be also 300 limited Collector’s Peace in this Craig set or not ? The watch was issued in the same time as Quantum of Solace movie, but got special name and was not directly connected with movie ..

Kinda neat that someone made their own custom box for their collection, but I wouldn't take it as a sign that anything is coming..

I haven't heard any rumors about a watch to celebrate 30 years of collaboration. Having a "Bond 30th" would probably also be weird next to an existing "Bond 60th".

Hello,

this is going to be my first post and I am looking forward to participate in discussions and seeing wonderful Omega watches posted by users.

30 years already... wow. I still remember that day, when I was 19 and watched my second Bond movie in a cinema ever (the first one was The Living Daylights).

Goldeneye has influenced me a few years later in a some ways. First, I was still a Heavy Metal guy in 1995. Yes, I loved the movie but style wise I was more into the regular cliché what Fear Factory, Sepultura and KoRn wore back then. However, I was always into watches. Be it Casio or dress watches my parents gave me from Anker or Eterna. Later my father gave me one of his SKX007, while he upgraded to a Rolex GMT.

After high school, the choice of music was still the same but I knew things were about to change in my life, like finding a job or attending university. Back then Germany still had mandatory military service or civilian service for about a year. I chose the latter and worked in a facility taking care of handicapped people: cooking, washing, bathing, changing diapers, tending them if they had seizures and so on.

Despite the fact that I thought I bit more than I could chew, I found the job interestingly fulfilling and stayed after "serving my time" and then got a a part time job there. It was a good idea to finance my lifestlye back then when I enrolled for law school. As a "gift" to myself, I purchased the 2541.80 in 2001. Since then this watch accompanied me to proposing to my now wife, our wedding, many wonderful memories in and outside our country, funerals, birthdays, our kid's birth... it will always be "THE ONE" watch, no matter what other Omega I might purchase in the future.

Of course, I kept following and watching the Bond movies and was a bit sad, that Craig dropped the now "neo-vintage" Seamaster, but I also liked the newer models which were introduced with/by him.

Sorry for that long post...

Great first post mate, welcome. Presumably you bought it new given you got it in 2001, one owner for nearly 25 years is absolutely awesome and a testament to what a great watch it is. As far as it being "the one" I feel the same way about my 2541.80 too. It's my first proper watch, and the last thing I'd ever sell.

Thanks, Jakeys... yes, brandnew from an AD in 2001. Next year this watch will be a quarter... and I will be a half century young. Sound so strange, innit?
