3 Pogues and 4 Seiko Bracelets

I was monitoring an auction today and ended up buying three Seiko 6139 Pogues and four bracelets. Two of the Pogues and the four bracelets were sold as one lot, with the other Pogue sold separately. They were priced at the point where I had to grab them 😀

Do any of the four bracelets belong the the blue-faced Pogue - which is currently on a rubber strap? If so, what end links will I need? If not, anyone have any idea what Seikos they belong to? Excuse the pics - they’re from the auction site.


The other Pogue looks like an early JDM with notchcase and SpeedTimer dial. Am I right on this? $325 seemed like a reasonable price based on any knowledge (albeit limited) on these - or not a massive gamble if I’m incorrect.

I would say yes. Although the rounded end-links on the rectangular lugs give me the heebie-jeebies ...


My vote would be no. But not entirely sure, so I fully (as always) stand open to correction. My foray (read attempted research) into Pogue's was mainly the dials. Have seen various bracelets on pogues but never BOR, or if there was one, it never stood out enough to remember ... and the 1 end-link there definitely is no match.

One thing that does jump out at me with the yellow dialed pogue is the sub-register hand : I am lead to believe this should be a tear drop (correct on the two blue dialed ones)...

Here is a 'T' dialed pogue (6139-6005 -> US)


And here an 'R' dialed pogue (6139-6002 -> EU)


Note the tear-drop minute recorder hand. Its clear to see that there are subtle differences in the dials w.r.t font / spacing but both are 100% unmolested factory originals, and yours have no serif on the '1' so they must all be 'T' dials, but cant read the text which indicates 'R' or 'T' however.

They most likely will need a service...factor in about $300 per watch 😀

The blue dial pogue could use the same "H" bracelet style as the yellow one. They came with several different bracelet styles when new.
End pieces will be an issue as finding original ones without the band if difficult. There may be some aftermarket. The previous poster is is pointing to uncleseiko and his AM bracelets are excellent. If you want to sell the BOR and/or the railroad track bracelets, PM me.

The yellow dialled watch does have a replacement subdial hand (though you're in good company - the original Pogue had a replacement hand at some point too - http://forums.watchuseek.com/f21/original-pogue-6139-chrono-up-sale-190058.html).#

None of the bracelets are original to the watches, except maybe the one already fitted to the yellow watch - at least it fits!

Your JDM Speedtimer Blue dialled watch should have a 6139A movement and I would suggest the serial number should date it to 1970 or maybe 71 at the latest. (ie first digit would be 9, 0 or 1).
