Black dial with a Blue bezel is the worst thing I've ever seen... sorry

It looks weird on something like a Rolex Submariner 126619LB because it's a bright blue against a gloss black dial, but Omega's is a darker blue against matte black which looks pretty good to me. I also just noticed that the blue has white 12-3-6-9 while the black has polished silver. That fact didn't come through in the stock photos:

I've been liking the blue bezel one, though not enough I think I would get one. I went in to the OB today and I unfortunately their POs hadn't been delivered, so I didn't get to check it out.

I was there for a Heritage 300 anyway, but would have been cool to see!

Side note; they had a Ti and a Summer Blue Proplof. They are shockingly lightweight, have a short lug to lug, and are more wearable than I'd thought! Still too "much" for me though😀

The Ploprof is such an awesome piece to wear around, I've never had so many people come up and ask about it, even more of a dude magnet than a rare sports car.

Oh, I'll bet! It is quite neat looking! I was shocked with how 'wearable' it was once in my hand. It isn't my style, and I don't think I'd like the attention nor the size, but I thought it was ultra cool. Was interesting to see that my OB actually had the discontinued one for sale 😀 Apparently they just got it in (along with a summer blue!). I've always wanted to check one out, and I got to!

It's interesting, right? The white numerals are a bit closer to the white-silver seen on the 2913 and many 165s. The metal numbers on the black black are a bit too flashy. I like the subdued White on the blue, and I like the orange with the orange. Both seem a bit more cohesive (to me)

Ploprofs? How much % off? I was wondering if the still in-stock planet oceans would be discounted. For example, I noticed the PO Summer Blue is no longer offered by Omega.

I didn't ask about discounts, my understanding is that the OB sells at MSRP only. Only the 1 titanium Ploprof, no idea what they wanted for it.

No idea on the PO discounts either.

As a gen 3 owner I’m not taken with this new iteration of the po. I feel it is a watch for the fashion conscious. It’s lost its practical use as a 600 mtr dive watch ( it’s of no use to professional mixed gas divers ) as it has no he valve ? The price rise is a little mad in my eyes no he valve no date and a big price hike.
As a Gen3 owner, which is a watch I really love, I've got to admit Omega did a nice job with this update. I really don’t like the polished center links on the bracelet, but they could be easily brushed out. As far as the price, well, everyone’s taking big increases and the sapphire Speedy is now at $9,000, so this is just at parity with that.

Overall I think it looks fresh, crisp, modern, and non-derivative. Being properly sized with current tastes will be a big plus for market acceptance. I also give kudos and respect that Omega took the PO line in a different direction, took a little bit of risk, and established more separation from its predecessors and the SMP line.

Mine says hello -- and to give a point of comparison.....
i have the exact same gen 3. Fantastic watch! I’m not a first impression fan of the new po. No date no he valve but more bling ?

I have the Gen 1 and Gen 3, and frankly I am not feeling this new update.
I think it lost a lot more than it gained.
I'm happy for those that like it, and I'm sure it is an excellent watch. But I feel that it is not really a successor of the previous ones.

As Thierry Stern said, most of the haters are people who never had a Patek and never will. So that doesn’t bother me.

Just one man’s opinion of someone that will never own an PO.

To me it looks like omega grabbed their best design elements from past seamasters and mish mashed them together without regard.
The lug ends are extremely angular and the polished centre links could have been brushed with each centre link facet polished.

The remaining polished centre link at the lugs when using a strap looks like there was no regard for a strap to be fitted and was an afterthought.

All of this and charging $15,000 aud is a bit rich.

Love the brand, love past models but I am the one Thierry was talking about but regarding the planet ocean.

Pic of my railmaster for a watch that in my opinion they got spot on.

The only watch i ever get compliments on is my modern steel Ploprof. It's pretty crazy because I mostly were Speedmaster watches.

Share a picture of it and I'll compliment it, too!

Well- I was doing a bit of cooking tonight and started to get down a big enameled cast iron skillet when I realized why I like this orange so much:

It reminds me of Le Creuset's "flame (volcanic)" color.

Maybe it won't in person but it makes me a bit more excited to go take a look. Got the go ahead from my better half to go investigate this weekend so I may do that!

I really like the new angular design, no He valve, and colors, especially the bezel design…
I’d consider getting one if they release a full Ti version…

My Gen 2 disappears on the wrist in spite of its thickness.

Which size is that Gen.3? Such a gorgeous watch!

Even if I like some aspects of the new model (I generally love me some polished facets and shiny chamfers) this classic look with the lyre lugs, HEV and the tool-bracelet just seems more timeless to me.

When I went shopping I was wearing my Gen1 42mm, and I tried the Summertime Blue (39.5mm) in the OB in Madrid, gorgeous watch. But I wanted something more timeless (black), which they didn't have. But I left convinced that my size would be the 39.5mm.

When I went to a dealer and tried the 43.5mm in black, all my previous convictions went out of the door. It is the 43.5mm that came home with me. More than just a watch, a statement !

Those two pictures are from the day I bought it.

My wrist is 7.5" or 190mm, FWIW.

I'd like to see this watch with a regular generic strap without the endlinks. Or a rubber strap like the SMP300m one or the older generation Planet Ocean, when the rubber directly integrates with the case. I guess the "squareness" of the case would be very different with just the angular lugs without the integrated strap/bracelet.

Had a look today at the blue bezel and black bezel ones, as the orange is not really my thing.

They were fully stickered so couldn't really try out the bezel action, but I did give them a few winds. The blue bezel one for the first couple of turns was a bit stiffer than I would've expected, but after was very smooth, can't say if smoother than my SMPs, but definitely smooth. The black bezel was smooth from the get go.

I'm wondering if there's some variance between production models?

Generally speaking, they're nice watches.

The new case shape is very interesting, I don't necessary love it, but don't hate it, I understand why it's dividing people. Same for the removal of the HEV.

The bracelet fits the new case design, looks thinner and gives the impression of an integrated bracelet due to the perfect case fit of the end link. I don't really mind the PMLs.

I like the new dimensions and the fact it's thinner, it wears smaller than the previous 43,5mm PO but it's not a small watch by any means. It might be an optical illusion but the outter width of the lugs (don't know how to explain this properly) doesn't seem to be a lot less than the previous 43.5mm PO.

The clasp is bit too long, but I like the updated more modern design. Once you use the microadjust, it still looks bad once it starts to stick out a bit, they could've tried to machine the top part so that it looks a bit like the bracelet links.

The Hypocampus on the caseback is very disappointing the first gen PO had a nicer caseback.

Personally I really dislike the fact they removed the date, I could care less about the whole symmetry thing. They might come back with a date model down the line, but who knows.

The fact they moved away from the ceramic dials is also a disappointment, I know some people like the matte dials of the first gen PO's, but to me the current dial looks cheap in comparison to the previous gen PO.
