Could 2025 be the year we get a cheapish quartz watch named WOTY? Just imagine.

Definitely possible. However.... for it to be named WOTY votes would have to land on just one. So I doubt that's going to happen.

Don't see why not, already happened in 2024. 馃槈

A good design doesn't have to be expensive nor an automatic.

I stopped in at my local-to-work AD this afternoon, to see one of these in person. Only to discover that this chain has decided to remove all TAG Heuer watches from the stores and sell them only online. There was a big, gaping hole in the store's watch display case. Even the salesman I talked with was disappointed by this move by corporate. It also means I no longer have any reason to visit them again. ::facepalm1::

Some nice comparison shots of the Blue WBY1112 by @vintage_swatch_
I think that's the one I want. Tied with white dialed version.

He also posted these pics of the white WBY1111. Tough choice, both are quite nice IMHO.

Both are great. My choice was easy because the blue one was out of stock. LOL

I also heard there is a nine piece box set, pegged at $16K
I heard the same thing. I believe the price is $16500, same as buying all 9 separately.

However, the process to get the box set, limited to 200, seems different compared to the KITH box set. First, the Boutique needs to secure your box set reservation and you'll pay $5600 now for the first 3 watches. Then throughout the year, as each F1 watch becomes available for sale, the Boutique will request payment, and you'll get the watch(es) as released. At the end of the year, after all 9 have been released, you'll then receive a special box to store the 9 watches as a complete box set.

The salesman in Goldsmiths told me that the rubber strap versions aren't available until later this year. Are the photos above just press-release demos, or was the salesman just trying to avoid selling to an 844 wearing oik?

I made this calendar this morning . . . it may help us keep our bearings during the months ahead.

Shout out any corrections, etc.

Three times world champion Nelson Piquet wearing the original Formula 1, circa 1987. (Credit: @vintage_swatch_)
I don't even remember this color combo from back in the '80s. After checking the TAG x KITH Heuer F1 booklet and @Aquagraph's blog on the history of the f1, I don't see it!

I need to do more digging now. I suspect the Honda Williams team might have had these custom ordered, similar to the red McLaren team watch. It might've been ref 381.513 (blue dial, black bezel, blue case), but with a blue strap instead of black.

After searching for a bit, I think this watch is unique to Nelson Piquet. I found a few more pics of him wearing it in '87, but as far as I can tell, none of the other Williams F1 team members wore it that year.

It's like a reversed 381.513. I've never seen one either.

I think it is 381.513, but with a custom fitted blue strap. This pic of 381.513 is from your blog site.
