2025 Rolex Land-Dweller With Oddball Escapement Cal 7135 Leak?

It looks like Rolex has an all new model for 2025 with a brand new Cal 7135 movement with 39 jewels and new escapement design, possibly the "Natural Escapement" they patented back in 2010, but certainly something very different from a traditional Swiss lever escapement from the photos.

The name is objectively terrible, and hopefully is an April Fools joke since it comes out April1st but Rolex does sometimes do stuff like this so its within the bounds of plausibility to me at least.

The OysterQuartz style bracelet and case is pretty cool, its just a weird execution and idea entirely.

The name is unbelievably appalling and on those leaked pictures the dial seems very underwhelming, the blue DJ dial from a couple of years ago looks much better.
But the bracelet looks great, hopefully better dials will follow and it’s about time they released a new model, even if it’s an OysterQuartz/Royal Oak knock off

Could be a new True-Beat / seconde morte complication which would be in line with a ticking quartz. Nothing wrong with the design imo and they even have Federer in this promo ;

I also hope that rolex will improve the design of the 1908 dualclasp.

That new movement looks pretty damn thin even with a display back. As stupid as the name sounds, if Rolex’s new movement helps push Omega to compete by making ultra-thins again I’m entirely down for that.

Omega has made some steps towards thinning their watches with Cal 8800 but many of them still need to go on a serious diet.

The whole thing sounds like a marketing exercise. It feels forced. Federer just casually out wearing a watch hasn’t announced.

Interesting from this photo, this new Rolex Cal 7135 movement now has 39 jewels, matching Cal 8900 and up from 31 in the Cal 3235.

I wonder if we’re back in that we’ve got more jewels than you period that watches had decades ago or if there’s actually a real need for that many as these are still just a 3 hander with date

You may be correct, but there's this from a recent article on this watch. "Rolex did apply for the Land-Dweller trademark in 2023, so there had been rumors going around for a while but now there’s video of it."
