F1 Sprint Race. Worth investing in a trip to Miami racetrack 2026? 30 minute race.
Yea I don’t think I would, COTA I’m really keen to visit but even that not if it’s just the sprint race. They were an interesting novelty initially but it feels a bit like the races are processions except for the few people willing to crash to score a couple of points out of desperation.

What do you guys think of the sprints?

As a moderate follower of F1, they have me confused at times. "Wait, is this qualifying for the race or the sprint?". "So, when do we qualify for the real race?".
Sprint brings out the bonsai moves for points. That's fun. As long as the teams can afford it, I guess I'm in.

I’m not a huge fan of sprint races but if that’s your best chance to go to an F1 race, then go for it.

Seeing the cars and F1 circus in person is a much different experience than watching on TV.

At first I was all... pffft!

Then I was... meh

Then I was... hrmmmn

Then I was... huh

Now I'm all... sure, why not

But that might change...

As someone who watches free practices in addition to quali and races, an extra quali and sprint race breaks up some of the monotony of tv coverage throughout the weekend. I assume that also lets them charge more for the tv rights for those sessions compared to just FP coverage.

That was an outstanding race. Action everywhere. Although, the full course yellow at the end was a buzz kill.

Lando took a big step toward the title.

Awesome race for Ollie. P4! He did well running with the big dogs. Quote of the day, "I was a bit sad when the yellow came out.

I tuned in around lap 50 and yeah there was some pretty decent action.
Too bad that yellow didn't happen with a few laps to spare!
Wondering whats up with Oscars drop in performance recently...

I think Oscars issues are all mental, like Lando is living rent free in his head. I feel like if someone offered him a seat in a competitive car he would be gone from McLaren.

Oscar sucked at these same tracks last year. Maybe he just isn't that good on these tracks yet.

Rumor is Mercedes and McLaren are the 2 teams that had a major cost cap breach.

Oscar was doomed back in Monza when he had to give back 2nd place to Lando due to a bad pit stop, losing 3 points. If he had refused, he would still be leading but more importantly his confidence would still be intact.

I can’t imagine Max or Lewis following the Papaya rules. It’s clear MCL is favoring Lando who has been w/the team from the start.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Oscar parts ways once his contract is up, he deserves better.

I can see it heading the way of WWE in recent years where nobody can afford to go anymore and they end up with massive unsold tickets eventually causing them to reconsider their whole approach.
