Key Improvements in the New Version of the Strap:

  1. Smoother Integration Between Notches and Metal End Links

Previous Version : The notches were created by directly cutting into the leather, leaving visible horizontal cuts that created an awkward transition between the leather and metal end links.


New Version : A "reverse-wrapping" technique is now used. Excess leather is folded inward and wrapped around the back of the strap, eliminating unnatural horizontal cuts and achieving a seamless connection.


  1. Enhanced Decorative Hole Finishing

Precision Cutting : Decorative holes now feature smoother edges, which are achieved through a more matched mold-based cutting process.


Aesthetic Refinement : The inner walls of the holes are coated with blue edge-sealing wax and polished, creating a striking color contrast and a more sophisticated finish compared to the previous version.

personally i don’t like it , i feel it makes it look like a 200$ watch , the original rubber strap can’t be beat .

I think you're being very harsh with your assessment of it being like a $200 watch.
I think it looks nice. It wouldn't be my first choice though. I think the Black rally strap is the best option here. That original rubber is harsh and the buckle is huge. Not a fan.

I think the black and blue leather looks great. There are times when I think the original rubber could do with more color and a bit more flex (as much as I like it and have no immediate plans to change).

Those who've put the steel bracelet on it too also completely changes the watch.

In short, pick what you like & suits your style. It's a great dial so do whatever you want to make it pop.

i agree about the buckle , I have since changed it to an aftermarket matt black buckle and i find it much more comfortable . and it actually blends with the strap,

No need for apologies Mate..we each have our opinions.
I couldn't stand the rubber so changed it on day 1.
I've had it on the Rally and Bracelet. I prefer the Leather.

Hard to believe that TAG Heuer struggled so hard to sell these, now it has been almost one year since release

Makes sense. No point bringing that out cos it will just divert potential customers away from the black one.

That's a pity, I would've preferred a white one. I think many know the original Seafarer from the white dial version.

The vintage black one is less known and in this new glassbox form it is quite similar looking to the standard reverse panda glassbox.

That's the whole reason I didn't buy one! I already have the black Glassbox. I was holding out for the white one because its the iconic one.
