Iam also not convinced about the picture..
It's real. And we are getting 6 LE pieces.
I agree a THF edition would be nice especially in a Katayama colour scheme.

Looks like the bracelet comes off the back of the watch?

Not keen on the bracelet at all. Reminds me way too much of the sort of cheap bracelet you see on eBay when people can't locate a plastic strap. Like this one I bought a few years ago..

I wish they used the OG's jubilee style instead. But I can't wait to see the more colorful versions on rubber straps.

The one in the advert reminds me of my 2004 F1 Chrono.

Yuki Tsunoda just transferred to Red Bull. That means he’s a TagHeuer driver now. This may be the best opportunity we have for a Katayama redux

Interesting way to connect things.

But for me, the Ukyo Katayama F1's colors wouldn't match a Red Bull driver. Because they were chosen to match Katayama's 1992 Venturi Larrousse LC92 race car livery and his racing suit.

OK, fair enough. But three of the Katayama colors are Red Bull colors. What if they swapped a green bezel for a blue bezel, kept everything else the same, and just gave it a white dial. Suddenly, it’s both a Katayama throwback, and a new Red Bull edition.

Just a little fun thought experiment

Finally decided to get the Kith and thought it would be nice to add to the F1 collection. The name bothered me when it was first announced but now I thought it's quite quirky and don't mind it at all. It's something different and fun to add to the collection and I'm glad I did.

Congrats!!! How do you like your KITH compared to your F1 Solargraphs?

I’m with you on the KITH branding. It was a big turn off at first, but now it makes these a bit special. A way to easily differentiate them from the originals.

Thank you! I do like it and it's my favourite so far. It reminds me of the 80/90s vibe more than the Solargraphs. I don't even see the Kith logo anymore at a glance.

Congratulations!! I'm with you on this -- the Kith name and pinstripes bothered me (for a few minutes) at first, but I am enjoying the watch and wear it more often than I expected to. It's a fun "grab and go" watch!! Hoping that you will enjoy yours!!

And just a note about the prices -- When the Kith Formula 1 was introduced (May 2024), there were the naysayers here who questioned the $1,500 pricing, some suggesting that these would soon be $500 watches in the secondary market. Right now, a look at approximately 50 eBay listings shows that -- if we eliminate the five most expensive listings and the five least expensive listings -- the range of asking prices is between $1,750 and $4,500, with most of the action in the $2,000 to $2,500 range. Yes, these are just the "ask" prices, but it seems fair to say that the prices are holding up well and someone who wants to buy one of these watches now will pay some sort of premium.

The Kith Heuer Formula 1 watches were released around May 5th, and there was considerable discussion here about the $1,500 price tag on the watches, with some participants here suggesting that this price was too high and would not be sustained in the aftermarket. There were suggestions that the price would decline when the hype died down.

So I just now had a look at the 45 Kith Heuer watches listed for sale on Chrono24. Knock out the five with the highest prices ($3,350 to $3,999) and the five with the lowest prices ($1,799 to $1,899) and we are left with 35 watches "in the middle", priced from $1,956 to $3,069. That seems pretty strong to me -- at $1,956, even the lowest-priced of these is 33% above the original $1,500 price.

Four months later, I would say that TAG Heuer and Kith got the pricing just about right.

Bump this message from Summer 2024 to the top . . . yes, prices for the Kith Formula 1 watches have been strong / stable.

I think looking at the completed listings on eBay will give a better view of market value. I find:

$1753
£1689
£1230
$1639
$1639
£1350 (better offer accepted)
£1587 (better offer accepted)

So $1750 seems to be the going rate, although I'm sure some colours may command a higher premium.

But yes, agree that if someone wants to buy one of these then they're going to have to pay a bit more than the original list price. This was always likely to be the case, and I'm sure any so called naysayers recognised this too - it's just the value wasn't there for them. For me personally, I think they're worth it, but I'd rather have one of the new Tag Heuer F1s than a Kith Heuer.

I think it's partly because we didn't know who Kith were so it's hard to get excited about it as a value proposition when we don't understand the market this was aimed at. So yes it has appreciated slightly, unlike the 30pc depreciation you can expect on the normal Solargraph F1s... which is quite impressive. But I do think the value will always depend on the strength of the Kith brand and I don't know how that will fare in the future. Will people still be buying £3000 trousers when AI takes over and we're all on UBI? Or Swiss watches come to that I guess...

The simple summary, at least for me - 18 months later, we can say that TAG Heuer and Kith priced the new F1s reasonably. The naysayers suggested that prices would plummet and in fact prices have held up well.

I will say this about the Kith F1s. Around the time of the launch my blog started to get increased views, which I've always assumed was people trying to find information about them... so if this increased interest was down to Kith then I guess I should thank them!

It can't ALL be AI scraping for data, surely!

Prices are not too bad in the UK. Picked mine up unworn for retail pricing which is pretty good. Some were going for a bit less but I think it's stable. I am now tempted with the blue kith.
I think they were given a bad rep and an unfair comparison to the moonswatch. These were so much better overall.
