Review coming soon...
Awesome!

BUT...the blue stripe on that one seem to be too dark and not very Gulf. Is it a final version you had for review or perhaps a prototype?

The shade of blue on your photo is not even close to the one on Tag website.

Also, sub dials dont look white in your photo David. They look more beige?

Yes, this is a prototype...but it's unusual for TAG Heuer to change the colours too much

Talk about false advertising if the photos on their website differ this much from reality. Lets hope this is one where they in fact change the colors a lot between prototype and production.

I hope this is an unusual case, based on the proto's need for better contrast of the stripe vs. face, and the fact that the color simply isn't correct for Gulf.

Anyway, so what material is the wristband made of? The pics from TAG's website look more alcantara like compared to the proto's watchband - which still looks to be a mystery material.

And the official answer is...

...the light blue shown on the social media shots is the final design

Yeah sure, but there are also a lot of advantages with quartz.

A lot of people think that quartz should be cheap but in reality, is it really that much more expensive for Tag to purchase a basic mass produced Sellita sw200 automatic movement? Is it not that automatic versions should be cheaper?

My guess is no, they dont pay that much for the automatic movement either, just that Swiss marketing has made people believe that mechanical = premium. Is it really more premium with a basic massproduced cheap automatic movement?

And with that said, I love the pictures and colors they have published on the site 👍😀

I agree Jim, I think mechanical watches carry an unjustifiable premium.

Good to see the blue has been sorted.

Hubert, you're slow to the draw on this one. Must be too busy ordering that new Monaco Gulf 50th Anniversary first win LE. LOL. Pre-order of the Gulf F1 was already mentioned on page 1. 😉
Got it! Well, I was updating the Aston Martin F1 and saw that this one was available too, so I posted the links to both of them. Thanks!

I wish one of the Monacos looked more like this. It is so much more of a coherent design.

Me too! Wish it was available on bracelet though. Perhaps I will be able to afford this during fall 😀

Contacted my favorite AD today and they will have this one in August, so then it will be a trip to Stockholm for me 😀

Spending 1700-2000 Euro on a watch is a lot of money for me but this one is definately on the top 3 list, hope it remains there after I try it on.

TAG Heuer Boutique in Las Vegas emailed me that they have this watch now in stock. Shouldn't be too long before these watches are more readily available.

Apparenty it differs a bit between countries when they get it in stock but I guess that is quite common.
