18K 166.032 with 1098 Bracelet and 752 Movement

Hi,

I have recently bought a solid 18K yellow gold Seamaster 166.032 with a 752 movement, dial with onyx inlaid markers and an intriguing 1098 bracelet in solid 18K gold.

I can find no references at all of any other 1098 bracelets in gold, only in stainless or plated. Has anyone else ever come across one before?

That bracelet is worthless. I'll take it off your hands for 100 bucks, just as a courtesy.

In all seriousness, it's a legit bracelet for the reference and looks stunning. With current gold prices and how hard they're to find, I can only imagine what they go for these days. Here's a thread where we discussed with @OneTwo about this bracelet.

Thanks guys, think I have been fairly lucky to have found it. Good that the bracelet is genuine, I knew that it was just concerning when you can not find any other examples of it. I notice that the Omega logo on the clasp is different in how it is done on the Steel and the Plated bracelets. I guess most other examples of this bracelet have probably been worn out and melted over the years sadly.

I haven't seen that style of clasp associated to the 1098 bracelet neither, in steel, plated, or 18k. There is variety and one can never take it for granted. It may as well be the original clasp, or replaced at one point. It wouldn't bother me either way.

Bracelet and clasp look good to me. This clasp seems to match those on the solid gold speedies from the 70s, which had 1116 bracelets (20mm version of the 1098).

Jiminy Christmas that's an awesome example! Been away from the forum for a bit so this is a rad tread to come back to. I dig that it's a non-luminous example as well. Congrats @cerbfan !! Lovely find. One day I'll find my luck and an example will come my way haha.

Bracelet looks like other examples I've come across. Here's the same bracelet and end link combo, albeit a polished clasp and with the reference stamped on the bracelet instead of 1098, as well as another in this article with the same clasp. It's been a while since I read about them but IRRC, the clasp like that was akin to the "Deluxe" offerings as well as some of the solid gold Speedmasters. There are a bunch of other solid gold examples listed in this post if you're curious to see more.


Out of curiosity would you be willing to share the buying price for the watch with the bracelet?

Not trying to be crass by asking but since it's quite uncommon to find them offered on bracelet, and since my beard may go completely grey before I find an example for myself, I was wondering to have an idea of how much I'll be out when I find one. LOL 😅 Feel free to PM if that would be more comfortable.

That is a really unusual combination, I've never seen a full 18K gold case and bracelet with the non-chronometer dial and movement, the "Golden Seamaster" that @MSNWatch was an early fan of is always the chronometer variant, that watch looks beautiful though, enjoy it mate!
