I've found this 145.012-67 on eBay UK. My gut is telling me that at first glance, it looks attractive. However, once you start to look at it more closely... the hands and lume look to be in "too good" condition to have not been relumed, particularly as the bezel has some damage to it. Furthermore, I'm not certain that the pushers haven't been replaced at some point. Finally, the text and hippocampus on the caseback look to be a little faded/worn, so it makes me think that there's been some polishing going on. I'm a little less convinced that there has been polishing on the lugs and case itself, although I am an amateur at this... Given the asking price is £7200 (~$9500), and the price chart on Speedmaster101 would mark this as near 'Very Good', AND there's no original bracelet, I'm inclined to say it's overpriced for what it is. That's probably why it's still sat on eBay with 4 watchers including myself. I thought I'd get some other thoughts on the OF. I'm happy to ask the seller for more photos, particularly if they have any of the movement... but I'm not even sure it's needed at this point.

Hello. I am still learning on speedies, so wait for expert opinion to go into the details… but clearly agree it’s not “very good”.

The case has plenty of dings, caseback quite polished… the subdial hands look odd as they seem square? The bezel isn’t very good either. So the price is way off in my opinion, like many Buy Now on eBay and other platforms.

This one on the private sales seems more attractive to me, and it’s serviced. And from a reputable seller here. And much cheaper.

That’s a nice example. I like how the seller has explained everything. I will read it in more depth when I can.

My main reason for posting this thread, and others, is to test my thought process against others on the forum. I’m new to the vintage Speedmaster world and I want to learn as much as I can from others. In the end, when I do buy my first Speedmaster (unfortunately funding is not easy for me), it will likely be from the forums or another reputable place. eBay Buy It Now listings likely won’t be it. Thank you for your reply!

So you're not really considering the OP watch. Just testing your thought process. Noted.

Yeah. IRL, finding watch people, particularly vintage watch people, is hard… so why not go for the biggest Omega forum there seems to be eh? 😉

Yeah, good thinking. A bunch of experts who love quizzes. And it's free, right? Can't beat it.

Quite right. Although I’d like to stay around and help others once I learn enough! 😁
